The Anna Dymna’s foundation helps people with various physical and mental disabilities and is one of Poland’s most established institutions of its kind. About 400 handicapped persons are supported daily and in total about 11 thousand were supported until today. The foundation was founded in 2003 near Krakow and runs currently two rehabilitation centre for treatment and therapy. The institution provides various kinds of support and is specialised in drawing and painting workshops for disabled people. Besides donations the foundation is financed by the organisation of clothing collections. The former Pope Johannes Paul the II was very impressed by the foundation's work. It was a special concern for Volkswagen to leave a footprint at an institution that helps disabled people despite the hopelessness of their situation.
